Merry Christmas Everyone! Well I’ve gone against all the advice from grumpy people I’ve met over the years and got me a wife! Anna and I got married
in October this year and so far are extremely happy and enjoying married
life. The wedding was held in St. Keverne down here in Cornwall and
was truly a day to remember. Many thanks to Musically it’s all going strong too! The Strange Hillfolk is recovering after a mini tour of Cornwall and we’re looking forward to working together more in the new year and completing the debut album. Keep checking the Strange Hillfolk page for updates on this. The ‘Dowling Thing’ is also coming together nicely. We’ve found our groove and are also in the process of recording the debut album. I was in Munich again
in October teaching at the Munich Banjo Camp along side Charles Wood
and Ned Luberecki. Amazing people and amazing players. It was also great
to see all my friends I met last year and good to see how much they’ve
come on with they’re playing. I look forward to seeing them all
The banjo lessons continue
to be a pleasure to give and it’s wonderful to meet such a wide
variety of people and help them along they’re banjo playing career.
Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year!!!!!!
15th May 2009 The new album has been released! ‘The Underground Sessions' was
recorded entirely in a 200 year old Tin Mine near St. Ives. To find
out more about this project click here.
Life is extremely good down here in Cornwall. It can rain a lot, but generally everything is very pleasant. Anna Kelly and I have accepted a residency at the Western Hotel in St. Ives, where we will be playing as a duet on a Saturday night once a month. Check the gig dates for specific days and times. A lot of people have been coming to me for banjo lessons here in Cornwall, however I still teach in London and the North West, so feel free to email for lesson details.
